Arctic Wildlife SAT Essay

Arctic Wildlife SAT EssayMany students are unfamiliar with sample SAT essay prompts, and that's the exact problem with Jimmy Carter's Arctic Wildlife Test. This essay was written for a North Reading Exam, and although this was probably written by Jimmy Carter as a practice essay, his writing style is still questionable, even with a guide like this one.The reader immediately feels as if he or she is not a native of North Reading, Massachusetts, and more than that, an outsider trying to fit in with the native population. While it is indeed the native population that Carter refers to when speaking of 'our place in the world,' it still feels as if a commoner would have been a better choice of words, as Carter has chosen to speak about the native population as an outsider. The reader is also left feeling as if Carter is trying to be witty and sarcastic, but this is not the way to do it; witty and sarcastic writing comes across as arrogant, and an article such as this would probably be rej ected by colleges as well. His use of the first person, and also his incorrect use of 'we' in the sentence 'The long run', is another thing that detracts from his essay, although it can be fixed easily with one or two paragraphs clarified. The spelling and grammar are clearly off, and although it does appear he tries hard, he leaves a lot to be desired. Even so, there are some good points here and there, and what makes it so funny is the fact that it comes across as the work of a good, average American male, such as we all know he is.In conclusion, Jimmy Carter's Arctic Wildlife is a waste of time, as he tries to write in the same sort of archaic jargon and slang that many of the students who come to read it would likely use. However, for a local history student, this is just another way to make a cheap laugh, as the student could actually learn quite a bit by examining this. A more authentic essay would be a good choice, one that is used in every college, as it contains information that would not only serve the educational purpose but also could bring back fond memories for the reader as well. Many of these students would feel that a true American has no difficulty speaking English, since Jimmy Carter is indeed the best example of an American in this SAT essay. Instead, they would feel that they are being too old-fashioned, and when talking about something like Jimmy Carter, they feel as if they are trying to be hip, but the average reader, who could write like Carter, would not be able to.To call the essay a waste of time, is not even close to the truth, as this may be the ultimate answer for any SAT essay, especially since the Arctic Wildlife exam only requires an English composition. It is also definitely not an essay that should be used on a college application. This SAT essay, however, is a lot better than the essay written by students who are trying to impress their professors with the amount of grammar they have written. With Jimmy Carter's Arctic Wildlif e, there are only a few mistakes, and he also makes sure to use the correct punctuation, and punctuation is important when writing. If you are serious about getting into college, this is not a chance you want to miss, as this is an overall opinion, and not a grade point average. Nonetheless, this is one example of a great SAT essay, which is more accurate than some of the others, even those with more awkward grammar.
